The Ventimiglia 2024 International Music Festival continues in the “San Francesco” Cultural Center in Via Garibaldi 37A, Ventimiglia (IM). After the concert by Andrea Verrando (harpsichord, Ventimiglia) on August 28 and the off-site evening in the amphitheater of Cala del Forte by the Danish pianist Elisabeth Nielsen on August 31st was the turn of Maestro Francesco Mazzonetto. The young talented pianist from Turin performed music by Muzio Clementi, Robert Schumann, Alfredo Casella and Franz Liszt with an almost magical skill so much so that it seemed, in some moments, that the piano was playing by itself. Mazzonetto was able to transport the competent audience of the festival into an almost surreal world and then bring them back to the sad reality of our recent past by playing as an encore a composition taken from the 12 rooms of the late Maestro Ezio Bosso. As long as talents like maestro Francesco Marconetto are born, humanity will be able to keep the great composers of our history immortal by presenting them as alive every time the occasion of a concert presents itself. Thank you Maestro Francesco Mazzonetto and thanks to the organizers of the Internationale music Festival of Ventimiglia for these magical moments. The festival has planned two more magical evenings: on Saturday 31st August Elisabeth Nielsen (piano, Denmark) and Christine Bernsted (violin, Denmark) and, again in the San Francesco Cultural Center, on the evening of 1st September it will end with the performance of maestro Radu Ratoi (accordion, Moldova)
Elisabeth Nielsen is the initiator of the festival which she herself created in collaboration with the Italian pianist Gianluca Luisi and the cultural associations “Nielsen Saloner” (DK) and “Marco Polo Music” (IT) with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Danish foundation “Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen”.
